What Are You Carrying?

“When the Holy Spirit comes into your life and you allow Him to take charge of your life, He’ll bring in the anointing. The anointing of God’s Spirit will come upon everything you do.”
— Chris Oyakhilome

Many people are waving banners, carrying signs, and even carrying weapons in this season. Some are even carriers of the COVID-19 virus. So during this time of chaos and crisis that we’re in, I have to ask you, what are you carrying? Are you carrying hate, justice, love, peace, or malice?

Carrying is a common slang term in the United States. When people say, “He’s carrying,” it means the person in question has a handgun on him. Carrying a handgun means you have a loaded weapon, you know how to use it, and you’re ready for whatever challenge comes your way.

With that concept in mind, lets consider carrying something far more powerful than a sign or a handgun: the Anointing! When you carry the anointing, your weapons of spiritual warfare are always loaded. If you carry the Holy Spirit’s purpose-driven power, you will always know how to use it. You will be more than a conqueror whenever challenges of any variety present themselves to you. I believe the current hatred, racism, and strife in this world would be healed if we learned how to carry the anointing.

Carrying the anointing means allowing Holy Spirit to lead you in every aspect of your life, no matter how big or small. Too often, we can get into the habit of using the anointing only in specific times, and not actually carrying it with us wherever we go. Different people carry different measures of the anointing, and they carry it differently at different times.

When you look at the fruit of anyone’s life, including your own, you should be aware there is a false substitute for every holy thing. The devil cannot create, but he does pervert the things God creates if he can get his hands on them. There is a real and a false version of everything in the spiritual realm. It is important to know the difference between the real anointing and a false anointing or “gifting.” The real anointing from the HOLY Spirit carries certain attributes that will confirm its holy source every time:

·       The anointing is authentic- Real people with real power carry authenticity, and their realness is evident to all. They are not afraid to be transparent. They understand Christ, His word, and His principles. Christ is above race, politics, and fleshly desires.

·       The true anointing is abundant- There is always enough anointing for every task. The anointing is the Holy Spirit sitting down on your situation, and He is always more than enough!

·       The anointing is active- Like a well-oiled machine, it produces results. Godly results bring PEACE. Satan’s results bring divisions and riots.

·       The anointing is for others- Although our Hero dwells in you for your sake, He also wants to use you to change the world around you.

·       The anointing is available- To accomplish any of the great and wonderful tasks God wants to do through your life, you must first receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

·       The anointing is the outflow- The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the inflow that turns your ordinary into His extraordinary; and the anointing is the outflow that gives power to serve. It is when God puts His SUPER on your NATURAL.

You will always pay the price to let the anointing flow in your life. Functioning under the power of the anointing requires keeping yourself in the pipeline of obedience to the Holy Spirit. Yet, the rewards you will receive when you are intimate with Him and when you follow His anointing are worth the cost.

Here are six BIBLICAL rewards you will receive when you carry the anointing:

·       Unlimited access to God

·       A heart to worship God with wild abandon

·       A renewed mind-set

·       Increased strength

·       Permanent promotion

·       Jesus will get the glory!

As you begin to draw closer to the Holy Spirit in intimate fellowship, you will notice your anointing increasing by leaps and bounds. As you become more and more like Jesus, our Hero (the Holy Spirit) will rest upon you in greater levels each day. Your Christlike character will enable you to carry the weight of God’s divine firepower without hurting yourself or others.

Learning to walk in the flow of the anointing is all about intimacy with God. Greater intimacy always results in greater levels of anointing. The good news is, there are no barriers between you and God except the ones you create. You know you “have the anointing” when the Holy Spirit empowers you to accomplish any specific task. When you carry the presence of the Holy Spirit, and He helps you do what you need to do, ordinary things quickly become extraordinary.

My friends, we can all agree that these are complex times. A global pandemic is changing the way we temporarily live and racial division has led to total anarchy. We are matching evil for evil and we must repent. None of what we are seeing on the news is political, biblical, or moral. It’s plain evil. God’s people must rise up! We need to plug into and fully rely on our Hero within to get us through this season. The anointing gives us a supernatural edge, and when we carry it properly, we can navigate anything that comes our way. By walking in the true abundant anointing, we will always shine bright, pointing others to Jesus. There is no greater King, no greater source of comfort, provision and healing than Jesus Christ!

You can have as much of Jesus as you desire, and you can know Him as fast as you want. Like any relationship, you get out of your relationship with God exactly what you put in. So why not go after Him with your whole heart and embrace a new race, a new start, and a new family. Ephesians 2:19-20 says;

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.

I say we renounce racism and evil of all kinds, carry the anointing of Jesus Christ, and act like we are one blood, one family, with ONE King. His name is Jesus! Who is with me?
